Internal Intranets

Intranets and ExtraNets:

An Intranet by it's very nature is private. Unlike a traditional Internet Web Site, an Intranet is used to help a company communicate and manage it's internal information.
An Extranet in many respects is similar to and Intranet but also includes key Clients. Extranets are quite frequently used to invite key Clients into constrained information areas of the company. This provides a high degree of information transparency, making the Client part of the overall team. The Client is able to see where their orders and projects are in the production or development stream.
